Dear Families,

Welcome to the 2021/2022 school year. It has been a crazy ride the last 18 months and I am not sure when exactly we will be able to exit. However, I am determined to make the best of this year and our time together. At THE 5th grade runs a modified middle school model. This means that I will be teaching math to all 5th graders. I have the pleasure of working with Mr. Nunlist who will be taking on all ELA and social studies and Mrs. Fisher who teaches all of the science curriculum.

We (the teachers) will be rotating from room to room while students remain in their homeroom. This will hopefully help to limit any unnecessary exposure as we attempt to return to a "normal" school setting.

We will be using Google Classroom as the learning platform for 5th grade. This will be in case we need to move to remote learning or if students are out and need access to the learning materials. Google classroom is also where I will post instructional videos/materials when possible in case you need more help at home. It is also a great place for families to view the instructional process as well.

Mrs. Brannin

This is my 16th year of teaching and I absolutely believe it is the BEST job ever. Making connections with students and families, seeing the light bulb go off when the concept finally clicks, having fun, and being able to continually learn are just a few of the reasons I love it.

I spent the first 8 years of my teaching career in the Centralia School District teaching 5 and 6th graders before I was hired here at Tumwater Hill Elementary. I have taught 5th grade each year I have been here. This is the fourth year that the 5th grade team has done the modified middle school model and I've had the incredible experience of just teaching math to all of the 5th grade students at The Hill.

I am married to my best friend and we have 2 children (a 6th grader and a 4th grader). We also have 2 dogs (Thor and Loki) and a cat named Cheezit.

Some of my favorite things to do include camping, learning about history, taking walks, jumping on the trampoline, watching the Seahawks, spending time with my family and I am a sucker for the sunrise and sunset!

I cannot wait to get to know all of you and to learn about your interests as well.
